2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC vs. 2018 BMW X3

• GLC: The GLC runs on a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4, which promises 273 lb-ft of torque via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Also available is an AMG® turbocharged 3.0L V6 that churns out 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque and sprints to 60 mph in a mere 4.8 seconds.
• X3: The X3 also has a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 engine to start, yet it manages only 258 lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The X3’s secondary engine is a turbocharged 3.0L inline-6, which musters no more than 355 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

What’s more, the Mercedes-Benz GLC also comes in an eco-friendly version, powered by a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 mated with a plug-in hybrid electric motor to produce 320 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. There is no such option in the BMW X3 lineup.
