While many drivers know how to clean the outside of their windshield, they often ask our service team how to clean inside car windows and how to clean the car windshield inside. How to Clean Inside Car Windows

If you’re driving through Sussex and notice that things look a little blurry, you may want to clean the inside of your vehicle’s windshield:

  • First, wipe down the glass with a microfiber cleaning cloth to remove any grime or dirt that’s on the windshield.
  • Spray your preferred brand of glass cleaner on the microfiber cleaning cloth and wipe down the inside of the windshield. While this will remove any remaining substances, you’re not done just yet.
  • Apply rubbing alcohol to a clean microfiber cloth and wipe down the inside of the window. This will get rid of any grease that can build up on the glass to ensure excellent visibility.
  • Another round of glass cleaner or a glass polish applied at the end helps give you better transparency.

Can You Use Windex on Car Windows?

Yes, you can, however, it shouldn’t be used with tinted windows. If your windows were tinted by a third party, it’s best to split this part, but if you had them tinted at Mercedes-Benz of Newton, you won’t have any issues. When using Windex in your vehicle, be sure to be careful not to get the cleaner on leather seats, as it can dry out or discolor the leather. Our Hackettstown-area service center is standing by to answer any questions that you may have.

Additional Windshield Cleaning Tips

Follow the steps below if you still see several spots on the inside of your window:

  • A microfiber cleaning cloth is excellent at eliminating the small paper fibers you get when cleaning with paper towels. They also don’t leave as many steaks.
  • Use a reach-and-clean tool to reach the corners of the windshield.
  • Use a circular motion when wiping with a microfiber cleaning cloth, then start wiping vertically at the end to remove streaks.
  • This cleaning process can be used with all interior windows, not just the windshield.
